Definiens Developer XD supports the import, representation and analysis of generic and proprietary file formats including images from scanners, cell screening plate readers, radiological devices and confocal microscopes.

Image Import and Supported Formats

Image data in biomedical research and clinical diagnostics come from a variety of acquisition devices and tend to be stored in many different file formats.

Definiens Developer XD supports the importation, representation and analysis of any generic image format such as .tif or .jpg. Furthermore, the software includes a large range of drivers for reading in proprietary file formats. This includes images coming from scanners for digital slides and tissue microarrays, cell screening plate readers, radiological devices or confocal microscopes.

In addition to these standard imports, other data including separated fluorescence channels, 3D stacks and 2D and 3D time series can be loaded and appropriately arranged using a straightforward and versatile customized import tool.

You can choose between loading a single image or a larger batch of images, which are then managed within a so-called workspace. The workspace allows you to work with any number of training images to develop robust algorithms. An easy-to-use graphical user interface facilitates navigation through the loaded images within a workspace.
